Kids for Paws Shelter Missions · SPEAK

Voice for Paws: kids tell shelter animals' stories.

Lend your voice to an animal’s story.

Children can help tell a shelter animal’s story with a voice recording of 20 seconds or less. No face-on-camera performance is needed, and you can begin without completing a Pen Pals letter first.

How it works

  1. Choose a Paw

With a grown-up, choose a shelter or rescue animal and check the official listing. Use the animal’s name, personality, and story as provided by the organization.

  2. Read and practice

Keep the message short and accurate. Begin Dear Future Family and close Please pick me. Love, [animal name]. Practice slowly and clearly in a comfortable voice.

  3. Record

Record 20 seconds or less in a quiet place. A phone voice recorder is enough. Your voice can tell the story without showing your face.

  4. Email through a grown-up

A parent or caregiver reviews the recording and emails hello@kidsforpaws.com. Include the child’s first name only, the animal’s name, shelter or rescue, and animal ID if available. Permission for public use must be confirmed before a recording is shared.

Voice for Paws steps: choose a Paw, read their bio, write their Dear Future Family letter, record your voice, email it to us, we share their story.
One small mission. Lots of heart.

Kids record their voice only. Email the recording to hello@kidsforpaws.com with the subject: Voice for Paws: [animal's name].

We only collect grown-up emails. Kids should not fill out this form.

For parents, caregivers, and educators

All submissions come through an adult. Do not include a child’s surname, school, home address, or direct contact details. Questions about a classroom or group recording project should come from the adult leading it.

Use the animal’s verified story. A grown-up manages contact and sharing. Shelters and rescues decide whether and how to use each submission, and participation does not guarantee publication or adoption.
