Art for Paws: shelter animal art projects for kids
Make something that helps a Paw be seen.
Animal art projects for kids can have a recipient. Create a portrait or a useful poster around a shelter or rescue’s request, using verified information and plenty of your own creativity.

How it works
Start with a need
Ask a grown-up to find out what a shelter or rescue can use before starting a group project. That might be an animal portrait, a display, or a poster for a requested supply drive.
Choose what to show
Use approved animal photos and facts. Decide what someone should learn or do after seeing the artwork.
Create in your own style
Draw, paint, or make a collage. It does not need to look perfect. Keep the animal’s name and any requested message clear and easy to read.
Review and share
A grown-up checks the facts and coordinates sharing. The shelter or rescue approves how it is used. Ask for an update, and share what you hear back.

Drawing is the mission. Writing is optional, and a grown-up can write the words for your child.
For parents, caregivers, and educators
Start small and confirm the intended use. Avoid sending unsolicited batches or collecting supplies the organization has not requested. Art for Paws can be completed on its own or alongside a Pen Pals letter.
Use the animal’s verified story. A grown-up manages contact and sharing. Shelters and rescues decide whether and how to use each submission, and participation does not guarantee publication or adoption.
